El Bawiti Museum (sometimes called the Bawiti Museum, Golden Mummies Hall, or Mummy Hall) is a small but fascinating archaeological museum in Bahariya Oasis. The museum houses select finds from one of the most remarkable discoveries in modern Egyptian archaeology: mummies and funerary objects from the Valley of the Golden Mummies.
The museum displays a collection of Greco‑Roman mummies — some richly decorated with gilded masks or painted linen wrappings. Also, visitors see artifacts such as jewelry, amulets, wine jars, and other funerary items designed to accompany the deceased into the afterlife.
